Brown, who said 'call the cops for violators of COVID-19 measures,' was inspired by BLM activists

Over the months Oregon Gov. Kate Brown has been releasing contradictory stands between COVID-19 protocols and public protests.

The governor has issued Executive Order 20-67 in December which is the Fifth Extension of Executive Order 20-03 and COVID-19 State of Emergency. It will be in effect until March 3, 2021.

It was on March 8 of last year when Gov. Brown declared the state of emergency.

The latest EO has still included mitigation measures to control COVID-19 such as wearing of face covers and physical distancing.

During the Thanksgiving holiday, Brown released a reminder to “uninvite” love ones and sacrifice.

“This is hard, but making difficult sacrifices now will save lives,” she wrote on Twitter. “This Thanksgiving, keep it small. Uninvite them.”

She also told residents to call the cops if there are people violating COVID-19 restrictions, the Daily Caller reported.

“This is no different than what happens if there’s a party down the street and it’s keeping everyone awake,” Brown said. “What do neighbors do [in that case]? They call law enforcement because it’s too noisy. This is just like that. It’s like a violation of a noise ordinance.”

But what confuses many including Rep. Jim Jordan is how riots appear to be ok in Portland.

“In Oregon, you can be jailed for having too many people over for Thanksgiving, Jordan Tweeted. “But if you want to riot and loot in Portland, no sweat!”

In July, a time her order was still in effect, Brown posted on Twitter regarding a protest:

“I think we’ve had enough political grandstanding from DC,” Brown said. “The President’s plan to ‘dominate’ the streets of American cities has failed. And today, federal troops are preparing to leave downtown Portland. We will protect free speech and the right to protest peacefully.”

“The massive and non-violent protests led by Black Lives Matter activists have inspired the nation,” she continued. “Let’s get to work and make this vision a reality.”
