Oregon men’s golf senior Aiden Krafft shot a 5-under-par 65 on Apr. 14 during the second round of the 79th Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz, California.

Krafft’s performance stands out as one of his best collegiate rounds, helping Oregon improve its team score by six strokes compared to the opening round. The Ducks finished Tuesday’s play with a team total of four-over-par 354 and remain in ninth place overall heading into Wednesday’s final round. Southern California leads the tournament at sixteen under par.

Krafft started strong with a birdie and then produced an impressive stretch that included two eagles and five birdies for a front-nine score of six-under-par 29. “I was hitting my irons really close and I was making the putts that I needed to on the front,” Krafft said. “My driver was solid too and it was just a good front nine overall. That’s my best, 29, so that was pretty cool.”

After making back-to-back birdies on holes twelve and thirteen, Krafft reached eight under par for his round before double bogeys on fifteen and sixteen brought him back to five under. He finished with another birdie at seventeen to secure his low score, tying his career-best mark.

Krafft’s effort moved him up thirty-six spots into a tie for eighth individually at three under par going into the final day of play. Other notable performances from Oregon included Ramil Saelim’s one-over-par seventy-one and Oscar Lent’s one-over seventy-one while competing as an individual player.

The tournament will conclude Wednesday with live coverage beginning at four p.m. Pacific Time.
