The Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles has closed its Astoria office at 705 W. Marine Drive until further notice because of a facility issue, the agency announced Friday.

Customers are encouraged to use online services for many DMV transactions. According to the department, more than 30 types of transactions can be completed online at dmv2u.oregon.gov, which is available around the clock.

Those who need in-person assistance can find alternative locations and check real-time updates on office closures through the DMV’s website at www.oregon.gov/odot/DMV/Pages/offices/index.aspx.

For questions from the public, the DMV provided a customer service number (503-945-5000) and their main website (oregondmv.com). Media inquiries can be directed to Chris Crabb at chris.c.crabb@odot.oregon.gov or by phone at 971-304-9705.
