A woman from Brush Prairie, Washington, has pleaded guilty and been sentenced for mail theft during her time as an employee of the U.S. Postal Service (USPS). Darcy Rae Nolan, 57, admitted to stealing mail while working as a city carrier at the Parkrose Station Post Office.

Nolan was charged with theft of mail by an officer or employee after it was discovered that she stole medications from the mail on at least 15 occasions between February and December 2024. According to court documents, she manipulated USPS records related to parcels or opened parcels to take the medications. During a search of her purse and vehicle, authorities found approximately 137 pills and capsules identified as five different types of prescription amphetamines.

On November 10, 2025, Nolan was formally charged by information with theft of mail by a postal employee. She pleaded guilty to the charge and received a sentence of two years’ probation. The court also ordered her to pay restitution.

The case was investigated by the USPS Office of Inspector General. First Assistant United States Attorney William M. Narus and Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Trisotto prosecuted the case.
