The Oregon Department of Transportation announced on March 26 that the Canyonville DMV office at 241 N. Main is closed for the day because of staffing issues.

The closure affects local residents who may have planned to visit the DMV in person for their transactions. The department said customers can use the online service, DMV2U, which offers more than 30 types of transactions around the clock.

No information was provided about when the Canyonville location will reopen or how long staffing shortages are expected to last. The department directed customers needing assistance to contact them by phone or email, and suggested using their website for further updates.

The closure highlights ongoing challenges with staffing that can affect access to in-person government services. Customers outside of Canyonville were reminded they can manage their news subscription preferences if this update does not apply to their region.
