Construction on OR 86 near milepost 63 continues as crews work to replace the Fish Creek culvert. A temporary detour bridge has been installed, and traffic has shifted to this route, controlled by automatic traffic signals around the clock. The project aims to improve fish passage and ensure a safe travel corridor for the public. It is scheduled for completion in November.

Simultaneously, guardrail upgrades are underway along OR 86 between mileposts 34 and 70.5, with current efforts focused between mileposts 60 and 70. Traffic during these operations is managed by an automatic flagging device, leading to potential delays of up to 20 minutes. This safety enhancement project also aims for a November completion.

Funding challenges have impacted the Oregon Department of Transportation’s maintenance and operations; however, most construction projects like these continue as planned due to funding from separate capital programs. Despite these funding structures, delays may still occur because of a reduced workforce affecting traffic control and inspections.
