Face Rock Creamery LLC, based in Bandon, Oregon, has announced a voluntary recall of its 6-ounce Vampire Slayer Garlic Cheddar cheese due to concerns over possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The recall affects 16 units of the product with a use-by date of November 4, 2026.

According to the company, the recall was initiated after an FDA environmental sample detected Listeria monocytogenes in the processing area where the cheese was packaged. The finished product itself has not tested positive for contaminants.

The recalled cheese was sold exclusively at Face Rock Creamery’s flagship store at 680 2nd St. SE in Bandon, Oregon. Sales occurred between November 10 at 3:30 p.m. PT and November 13, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. PT.

Customers who purchased the affected Vampire Slayer Garlic Cheddar (UPC 8 512222 00547 8) during this period are advised to destroy the product or return it to the retail location for a full refund.

In a statement, Face Rock Creamery said, “Face Rock Creamery LLC remains committed to the highest standards of food safety and transparency. We are actively working with regulatory authorities and have taken immediate steps to ensure the integrity of our production environment.” The company added, “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and thank our customers for their continued trust.”

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious infections in young children, elderly people, and those with weakened immune systems. While healthy individuals may experience short-term symptoms such as fever and gastrointestinal issues, listeria infection can also lead to miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

Customers seeking more information about the recall can contact Face Rock Creamery at 541-347-3223 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. PT Monday through Friday or via email.
