FOIA Request to Eastern Oregon University regarding public university FY 2024 employee salaries on December 5, 2025.

Beaver State News has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Eastern Oregon University seeking detailed records of employee compensation for the fiscal year 2024. The request was made under the Oregon Public Records Law, §192.410 et seq., and aims to obtain the information in an electronic format.

The request specifically asks for comprehensive data concerning all individuals employed by the university during Fiscal Year 2024. This includes, but is not limited to, details such as employee names, gender, age or year of birth (if not exempt), date of birth (if not exempt or limited to month/year), employer name, title or position, department, hire date, compensation amount (including base pay and any additional pay), compensation type (e.g., salary, hourly, stipend, bonus), and employment type (full-time or part-time).

Beaver State News has expressed its understanding that some data fields may not be present in every record and has requested that all responsive records be produced regardless of field completeness. Additionally, if any portion of a record is deemed exempt from disclosure, they have asked for the release of all non-exempt portions in redacted form rather than withholding them entirely.

As a media organization dedicated to holding public institutions accountable and ensuring transparency, Beaver State News has requested a fee waiver based on their role in disseminating information to the public. They are also affiliated with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy—a non-profit organization focused on investigating governmental agencies through FOIA requests.

We look forward to receiving this information in an electronic format as it will greatly aid in our reporting efforts. As always, we remain open for any questions or clarifications regarding this request.
