Drivers using Interstate 5 in Portland should expect overnight lane closures under the Morrison Bridge during the next two weekends due to repair work. The Oregon Department of Transportation announced that the left lane in both directions of I-5 will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.

These closures are part of Multnomah County’s Morrison Bridge Strengthening Project. Additional overnight closures are planned for December 12-14, with another single overnight closure expected on Wednesday night, December 17.

The department advises drivers to be cautious and reduce speed when passing through work zones during these times.

“Please watch out and slow down for road crews if you’re traveling I-5 any of those nights,” the agency stated.
