The John Day Department of Motor Vehicles office at 193 N. Canyon Blvd. is closed today due to staffing, according to a March 9 announcement from the Oregon Department of Transportation.

The closure affects residents who rely on in-person services at the John Day location. The department encourages customers to use DMV2U, an online platform that offers more than 30 transactions around the clock.

Customers with questions about services or alternative options can contact the department by phone at 503-945-5000 or by email at oregondmv@odot.oregon.gov. Additional information is available on the official website, oregondmv.com.

The department also reminds subscribers that they can update their news preferences if John Day is not in their region.

No information was provided regarding when the office will reopen or how long the staffing shortage is expected to last.
