A landslide has led to the closure of Oregon Route 229 between Kernville and Siletz, according to an announcement from the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) on December 12, 2025. The incident follows several days of heavy rainfall and high water in the region.

ODOT crews have been addressing various weather-related issues along OR 229 in recent days. This includes emergency repairs to a sunken grade area near milepost 9 that took place on Wednesday.
