The Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles announced on March 26 that the Madras DMV office at 249 S.W. Third St. is closed for the day because of staffing issues.

The closure affects customers who planned to visit the Madras location for services such as licensing, registration, or other transactions typically handled in person at the DMV.

In its announcement, the department advised customers that many services can be completed online through DMV2U, which provides more than 30 different transactions around the clock. Alternatively, residents may choose to visit the Redmond office if they require in-person assistance.

For those needing further information or customer support, contact options include calling 503-945-5000 or emailing oregondmv@odot.oregon.gov. The department also reminded subscribers that they can manage their news preferences if Madras is not within their region.

It remains unclear when normal operations will resume at the Madras office.
