Construction has been completed on the new Crystal Creek and Dry Creek Bridges along Miami Foley Road, according to an announcement from the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). The project began after a storm in 2023 washed out the Crystal Creek culvert, prompting crews to build an emergency temporary bridge to maintain traffic flow until permanent structures could be constructed.

The newly finished bridges are expected to improve both road reliability during severe weather and passage for native migrating fish. Some crews may still be present at the sites as they finish installing utilities and complete remaining tasks.

“We’re excited to share that work is complete on the new Crystal Creek and Dry Creek Bridges,” ODOT stated. “These new bridges will help keep the road open to traffic during and after large storms while also improving passage for native migrating fish.”

Drivers are advised to continue exercising caution in work zones, as fines double in all Oregon work zones regardless of whether workers or signs are present. ODOT encourages community members to stay informed about ongoing construction projects by visiting their webpage and using their interactive map.

For questions about the project, Mindy McCartt, Public Information Officer, can be reached at 503-507-6045. The department also offers translation and interpretation services for those needing accommodations.
