Miami Foley Road will be closed at Crystal Creek on September 29 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. as crews set the remaining beams for the new Crystal Creek Bridge, part of an ongoing project to replace both the Crystal Creek and Dry Creek bridges.

During the closure, traffic will be detoured via U.S. 101. Construction activities are scheduled during daytime hours, and residents can expect noise and delays. A single lane of Miami Foley Road is expected to reopen by 3:30 p.m. that day.

After September 29, construction will continue with one lane open under a temporary traffic signal. Daytime work, noise, and delays should still be anticipated.

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) noted that while its current funding crisis is affecting maintenance and operations, most projects like this bridge replacement are continuing because they receive state or federal funds restricted to project development. These funds cannot be used for routine maintenance or daily operations. More information about ODOT’s funding challenges is available on their website.

Drivers are reminded to exercise caution in work zones and obey posted signs; fines double in all Oregon work zones regardless of whether workers or signs are present.

Questions about the project can be directed to Mindy McCartt, Public Information Officer, at 503-507-6045.

Accommodations for translation or interpretation services are available by calling TTY (800) 735-2900 or using the statewide Oregon Relay Service at 7-1-1.
