Miami Foley Road will be closed on September 8 as crews remove old beams from the Crystal Creek Bridge. The closure is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a detour available via U.S. 101. Work is part of ongoing efforts to replace both the Crystal Creek and Dry Creek Bridges.

According to the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), construction activities will result in daytime work, noise, and possible delays for drivers in the area. “We’re making progress replacing the Crystal Creek and Dry Creek Bridges on Miami Foley Road! Next week, we’re removing the old beams from the Crystal Creek Bridge. To do this work, we’re temporarily closing Miami Foley Road,” ODOT stated.

A single lane of Miami Foley Road is expected to reopen by 3:30 p.m. on September 8, managed by a temporary traffic signal. After that date, daytime construction will continue with similar impacts for motorists.

ODOT notes that while its funding crisis has affected maintenance and operations statewide, most bridge replacement projects are moving forward because they rely on separate state or federal funds earmarked specifically for development and construction purposes.

Drivers are reminded to use caution in work zones, as fines double regardless of whether workers or signs are present. For further information about this project or other roadwork in the area, residents can visit ODOT’s project webpage or check current road conditions at TripCheck.com.

“Pay attention in the work zone, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work. Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers,” ODOT advised.
