The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) in Oregon is inviting small business owners to attend the upcoming Small Business Day at the State Capitol on Thursday, January 22, 2026. The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the NFIB Oregon State Office located at 1149 Court St. N.E., Salem.

According to the NFIB, participants will have an opportunity to meet with state lawmakers and discuss current state and federal policies that impact small businesses. Lunch will be provided for attendees, but advance registration is required.

NFIB State Director Anthony Smith will lead discussions on several key topics affecting local businesses. These include updates on recently passed payroll and gas tax increases—which are currently on hold—proposed labor standards boards, new employment laws, unemployment benefits for striking workers, estate tax reform, impacts of the upcoming 2025 federal tax bill at the state level, and a preview of the 2026 election.

Additionally, NFIB Grassroots Manager Stacy Jenkins plans to address “the importance of getting involved with state and federal issues and The Power of the Small Business Voice.”

The organization encourages members to bring their questions as well as guests; however, all attendees must register ahead of time.

For more information or questions about the event, individuals can contact Grassroots Manager Stacy Jenkins at Stacy.Jenkins@NFIB.org.
