Northeast Area Commission on Transportation plans Sept. 4 public meeting in La Grande

The Northeast Area Commission on Transportation is scheduled to meet on Thursday, September 4, from 9 a.m. to noon Pacific Time at the Oregon Department of Transportation Region 5 Headquarters in La Grande. The meeting is open to the public and will be held at 3012 Island Avenue.

This advisory body assists the Oregon Transportation Commission in addressing transportation issues across state, county, and city levels. Members include community leaders and partners from Morrow, Umatilla, Wallowa, Union, and Baker counties as well as representatives from the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation.

According to organizers, “An Area Commission on Transportation is an advisory body chartered by the Oregon Transportation Commission to help address all aspects of transportation.”

The agenda will cover updates on transportation projects within these jurisdictions and other related topics. Those interested in joining remotely can call 1-971-277-1965 using meeting code 716-690-720#.
