Crews have completed a series of upgrades along U.S. 101 in Garibaldi, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). The project aimed to improve the roadway’s surface and enhance accessibility for all users.
Work included repaving the road, applying new striping, and constructing new ADA curb ramps at rail crossings on 3rd Street and 7th Street. Additional improvements involved creating bus stop pull-out locations, building new sidewalks between 1st Street and 11th Street, enhancing street signs for easier navigation through downtown, and improving water drainage.
“These upgrades will help everyone move through downtown Garibaldi more safely and comfortably for years to come,” ODOT stated.
ODOT encourages drivers to remain cautious in work zones and reminds the public that fines double in all Oregon work zones, regardless of whether workers or signs are present.
Community members can learn more about ongoing and upcoming projects by visiting ODOT’s project webpage and exploring an interactive map of current construction activities. For information on road conditions and traffic alerts at any time, ODOT directs travelers to TripCheck.com or to call 5-1-1.
ODOT also offers translation and interpretation services for those needing accommodations related to ADA Title II or Civil Rights Title VI. The agency affirms its commitment to non-discrimination in its programs, services, and employment practices.
