The Oregon Department of Human Services announced on Apr. 21 a new toolkit designed to help Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program participants report important life changes and keep their food benefits accurate.

The department said the toolkit aims to make it easier for people to understand what information they need to share and when, so they can receive the correct amount of benefits and avoid unexpected repayments.

According to the announcement, the resources include easy-to-read flyers and a simple card that helps users track income reporting. Short videos in English and Spanish are also planned for release soon. All materials are intended to be clear, visual, and available in multiple languages.

The toolkit covers common updates such as changes in income, household members, or housing costs. The department said these updates are essential for ensuring that benefit amounts remain correct.

Materials from the toolkit can be found on the ODHS/OHA Publications and Form Server by searching for ‘1366000’ as well as on the ONE Eligibility System partner resources page.

The department said it recognizes that navigating SNAP rules can be complicated. “These new resources explain what to report and when—so people can get the right amount of benefits and avoid unexpected repayment,” according to ODHS.
