Oregon residents preparing for Thanksgiving are being reminded by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) that they can renew their vehicle registration while shopping at select Fred Meyer stores. The DMV Express Kiosks, located in 10 Fred Meyer locations across the state—including Portland, Salem, Bend, and Medford—allow customers to renew registrations, print copies of registration documents, or replace cards and stickers.

“Forget to pick up cranberries or dinner rolls for your holiday feast? Head to Fred Meyer* and as long as you’re there, quickly renew your vehicle registration. Too stuffed to move after Thanksgiving dinner? If you can reach your keyboard, you can likely complete your DMV transaction online and avoid a trip to a busy field office,” ODOT stated.

DMV offices will be closed on November 27 and 28 for Thanksgiving Day and the following day. However, more than 30 transactions remain available through the online portal at dmv2u.oregon.gov around the clock.

The DMV Express Kiosks offer immediate printing of documents and stickers customized with license plate numbers. Residents are encouraged to use an interactive map to locate the nearest kiosk. Many Fred Meyer stores close early on Thanksgiving Day; customers should check local store hours before visiting.

For additional information about DMV services or kiosk locations, residents can visit oregondmv.com or contact customer service at 503-945-5000.
