The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is inviting the public to learn more about the proposed projects in the 2027-2030 Draft Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), which serves as a capital improvement plan for state and federally funded transportation projects.

Community members can participate by attending meetings held in February and March. The North West Area Commission on Transportation (NWACT) will host a meeting on February 12 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Banks Fire District #13 Building, located at 13430 NW Main Street, Banks, OR 97106. The meeting will also be accessible virtually via Microsoft Teams or by phone.

Attendees are encouraged to review the agenda on the NWACT webpage about a week before the meeting, as schedules may change and details regarding when the STIP presentation begins will be provided there.

Additional in-person opportunities include meetings in Tillamook County on March 5 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Officers’ Mess Hall Port of Tillamook Bay, Clatsop County on March 9 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at ODOT’s Astoria office, and Columbia County on March 11 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Columbia County Road Department.

For those unable to attend these sessions, an online open house is available where participants can use an interactive map to view proposed projects in their communities. The online open house will remain open until March 20.

ODOT has stated: “Accommodations will be provided to people with disabilities and materials can be provided in alternative formats. To make a request, please contact Caroline Crisp at 503-313-6812 or call the statewide relay 7-1-1 at least 48 hours in advance.”

Inquiries about ADA Title II or Civil Rights Title VI accommodations, alternate formats, translation/interpretation services or additional information can be directed by calling TTY (800) 735-2900 or using the statewide Oregon Relay Service: 7-1-1.

The agency emphasized its commitment: “We do not discriminate on the basis of disability in admission or access to our programs, services, activities, hiring, and employment practices. ODOT is an EEO/AA Employer.”

Travelers seeking real-time travel information such as road conditions and weather updates are encouraged to visit TripCheck.com for planning safe trips throughout the year.

For further questions about these events or programs, Mindy McCartt is listed as a Public Information Officer and can be reached at 503-507-6045.
