The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) has launched an online open house for the draft 2027-2030 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). The STIP outlines plans for capital improvement projects funded by state and federal sources. These projects include public transportation, new bike paths, sidewalks, road repaving, and bridge maintenance.

Community members are encouraged to visit the online open house to view proposed projects using an interactive map. Feedback can be submitted through the platform. According to ODOT, “This is your opportunity to see which projects we are investing in and to share your feedback.” All comments collected will become part of the public comment record and will be reviewed by the Oregon Transportation Commission before they approve the final plan in June.

The online open house will remain available until March 20. ODOT notes that comments may influence adjustments as project designs move forward.

Residents can also learn about ongoing construction in their area by visiting ODOT’s construction webpage and exploring another interactive map. ODOT reminds drivers to use caution in work zones: “Pay attention in work zones, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work! Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.” The department highlights that fines double in all Oregon work zones regardless of whether workers or signs are present.

For additional information or accommodations related to accessibility or translation services, individuals are directed to contact ODOT through provided phone numbers or relay services. ODOT states, “We do not discriminate on the basis of disability in admission or access to our programs, services, activities, hiring, and employment practices. ODOT is an EEO/AA Employer.”

Access for pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will be maintained around work zones.

Travelers seeking real-time travel updates can find road conditions, traffic cameras, and weather information at TripCheck.com (https://www.tripcheck.com), a website designed to help people plan safe trips throughout the year.

Questions about the program can be directed to Mindy McCartt, Public Information Officer at 503-507-6045.
