A man accused of living unlawfully in Oregon appeared in federal court after allegedly assaulting two FBI agents during his arrest on drug distribution charges.
Ezequiel Ramos Hernandez, 28, faces felony charges including assaulting federal agents and possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. According to court documents, the FBI, assisted by Woodburn and Salem Police Departments, executed a search warrant at Ramos Hernandez’s hotel room in Woodburn on October 1, 2025. Authorities seized quantities of cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine intended for distribution.
Following his arrest, Ramos Hernandez reportedly escaped from a moving vehicle while handcuffed as he was being transported by FBI agents. Two agents pursued him; during the chase, Ramos Hernandez resisted and was seen kicking one agent in the face multiple times. Civilian witnesses helped subdue him. He later told an FBI agent that he attempted to escape because he believed he was being deported.
Ramos Hernandez made his initial appearance before a U.S. Magistrate Judge and is being held pending further proceedings.
“Assaulting a federal officer is punishable by up to eight years in federal prison.”
“A criminal complaint is only an accusation of a crime, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.”
