The Oregon men’s golf team completed its regular season on Apr. 15 by finishing ninth in the 79th Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz, California. The Ducks posted their best team score of the week with a 3-over 353 in the final round, closing out the tournament at 17-over par.

This result concludes Oregon’s regular season as they now prepare for postseason play, beginning with the Big Ten Championships scheduled to start May 1 at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in Portland.

Sophomore Ramil Saelim led Oregon during the final round by shooting a 2-under-par 68, marking his seventh sub-70 round this season. Aiden Krafft was the top Duck overall on the leaderboard, tying for fifteenth place after posting a standout second-round score of five-under-par (65) and finishing with a one-over-par (71) in his last round. “Saelim was even par after a birdie-bogey start to the final round, but was nearly flawless the rest of the way. He made birdies at No. 9, No. 15 and No. 18 while adding just one more bogey to card his seventh sub-70 round of the season,” according to team officials.

Casper Nerpin and Kyreece Romero each recorded even-par rounds of seventy on Wednesday—both their best scores of the week—while Jeffrey Kwak added a four-over seventy-four to complete Oregon’s counting scores. Oscar Lent competed as an individual and made his second eagle of the week by holing out on Pasatiempo’s par-4 seventh hole.

USC won this year’s team title at thirteen under par, while Jack Buchanan from USC and Dean Greyserman from Stanford shared individual medalist honors at ten under par each. The Ducks’ lineup produced four eagles over three days—tied for third-most among teams—and accumulated two hundred five pars during play.

Oregon will look ahead to competing in its first Big Ten Championship starting MayĀ 1.
