The Oregon State Beavers women’s track and field team is set to participate in the Oregon Team Invitational hosted by the University of Oregon, according to an announcement on Apr. 16. The meet will take place in Eugene, with events scheduled for both Friday and Saturday.

This event brings together collegiate athletes for a series of competitions, offering opportunities for both attached and unattached competitors from Oregon State University. The invitational serves as a platform for student-athletes to test their skills against regional opponents and work towards personal bests.

Friday’s schedule begins with the hammer throw at 3:30 pm, featuring Bea Pettersson and Olivia Chamizo (competing unattached). Track events start at 5:25 pm with the open section of the 1,500 meters, including Ruby Broadbent, Jillian Brown, Eliza Eckman, Maella Hodgson, Cadence Kasprick, Kate Laurent, Avery Marr, Reese Morkert, Jenna O’Beirne, Ellie Quintana, Payton Smith and Kate Yahn. Other Friday highlights include javelin (Havana Alonso), shot put (Bea Pettersson), sprints by Audrey Biggerstaff and Callie Brandes among others.

Saturday’s competition features pole vault starting at 5:15 pm with Mia Fowler leading OSU’s efforts alongside Claire Lee and Carley Strand. The relay teams are also scheduled for action: “Megan Hatcher, Callie Brandes, Audrey Biggerstaff and Riley Patera” will compete in the 4x100m relay at 5:30 pm; later that evening “Megan Hatcher, Callie Brandes, Jillian Brown and Riley Patera” are set for the 4x400m relay.

Some athletes are listed as competing unattached (UA), meaning they do not use collegiate eligibility nor qualify for school records during this meet but still represent individual prowess on behalf of OSU.

Oregon State Athletics said its mission is to “Build Excellent Authentic Visionary Student-Athletes (Go BEAVS).”

The invitational offers a chance for emerging talent within the program to gain valuable experience while supporting team goals.
