Oregon Transportation Commission schedules March meeting with updates on major projects

The Oregon Transportation Commission is scheduled to hold its regular meeting on Thursday, March 12 at 9 a.m. The session will take place in the Gail Achterman Conference Room at the Transportation Building, located at 355 Capitol Street NE in Salem.

Agenda items for the meeting include updates on several transportation projects and initiatives. These topics are an update on implementing HB 3991 and the Oregon Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) budget situation, an informational update on funding and progress for the I-5 Rose Quarter Improvement Project, and an update on Phase 1A of the I-205: I-5 to OR 213 Abernethy Bridge project. The commission will also conduct an initial review and discussion of ODOT’s legislative concepts ahead of the 2027 legislative session. Additionally, members will consider amendments to the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), which may involve adding, modifying, or canceling projects. The commission plans to approve a revised Internal Governance Policy that establishes a new Audit Accountability Committee responsible for overseeing corrective actions related to audit findings.

Written comments can be submitted in advance and individuals may sign up for public comment either in person or virtually by completing a form on ODOT’s website by noon on Tuesday, March 10. Participation is limited to one representative per organization. Priority for testimony spots will be given to commenters and organizations providing input for the first time.

Written comments can also be sent electronically using a submission form on the OTC website by noon on March 10 to ensure inclusion in the meeting packet. Comments received after this deadline will be shared with commissioners following the meeting. Alternatively, written comments may be emailed to OTCAdmin@odot.oregon.gov or mailed to Oregon Transportation Commission, ATTN: Commission Assistant, 355 Capitol Street NE, MS11, Salem OR 97301.

The commission states: “Oregon Transportation Commission meetings are open to the public.
