Southbound Interstate 5 under the Morrison Bridge in Portland will experience overnight lane closures over the next two weekends due to ongoing work on the bridge.

According to a statement, the southbound left lane of I-5 will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights starting December 12 through December 14. The closure is part of Multnomah County’s Morrison Bridge Strengthening Project.

The following weekend, from December 19 to December 21, both directions of I-5 will have their left lanes closed during the same overnight hours as repair work continues.

Officials are urging drivers who plan to travel on I-5 through Portland after 10 p.m. during these periods to exercise caution for the safety of road crews and themselves.
