Perotin leads Portland Pilots with third-place finish at Bryan Clay Invitational

The Portland Pilots track and field team posted several personal records at the Bryan Clay Invitational, according to an April 18 release. The event took place at Cougar Stadium in Azusa, California.

The results highlight strong performances by both men’s and women’s teams. Rose Perotin led the way for the Pilots with a third-place finish in the women’s 800 meters, achieving a personal record of 2:07.97. She also set a new personal best in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:29.61. On the men’s side, KG Monyebodi recorded his own personal best in the 5000 meters, finishing in 14:04.77.

Other notable achievements included Selena Bangerter’s PRs in both the women’s 5000 meters (17:06.79) and the women’s 1500 meters (4:38.50). Kate Kabenina and Giana Atkinson also achieved PRs in their respective events. In distance events, Bodie Alderson ran a PR of 14:35.31 and Dalton Kaines finished with a PR of 14:45.56 in their races.

In steeplechase competition, Elliot McIntosh ran a personal best of 9:35.73 while Giuliano Scasso completed his race in the invitational section with an impressive time of 8:49.28 before placing eighth overall in the men’s invitational section of the 1500 meters.

On the sprint side, Aria Cain posted an individual best time of 11.79 seconds during preliminaries for the women’s 100-meter dash while Malia Harvey set her own mark at 24.31 seconds for her event.

The next scheduled meet for Portland is at Corvallis for OSU High Performance on May 1–2.
