The Phoenix City Council announced on Apr. 16 that it will hold its next meeting on April 20, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will take place via Zoom, allowing both in-person and virtual participation.

The upcoming council session is important for residents who want to stay informed about city business and participate in local governance. The agenda includes opportunities for public comments, presentations, consent agenda approvals, new business applications, financial reports, old business resolutions regarding fee schedules, staff reports from various departments, and time for mayor and council comments.

According to the posted agenda, a quorum of at least four council members is required to conduct official city business. If needed to establish a quorum, the mayor may serve as a voting member during the meeting under Phoenix Municipal Code Chapter 2.28.020.A.4.

Public comment is encouraged during the designated period early in the meeting. Each speaker will be limited to three minutes and must state their name and address for the record whether attending in person or virtually. While brief responses may be given by council or staff members during this time, no action can be taken on items not listed on the agenda except under special circumstances.

Items set for discussion include approval of previous minutes; review of contracts such as the School Resource Officer contract with Phoenix/Talent School District; consideration of applications for Parks and Recreation as well as Budget Committee membership; presentation of a financial quarterly report; discussion of amendments to commercial park use fees; departmental staff updates; and closing remarks from officials before adjournment.

The next regular city council meeting is scheduled for May 4, 2026.
