A Portland resident, Christopher Griffin, 37, appeared in federal court following his arrest for trespassing on the grounds of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) building in Portland. He faces charges that include failing to obey a lawful order, obstructing federal property, and trespassing on federal property.
Court documents indicate that on November 16, 2025, Griffin entered the ICE building grounds and did not comply with orders from federal officers. He was arrested at the scene. Additional charges stem from an incident on October 22, 2025, when Griffin allegedly did not follow an officer’s instructions to leave the premises, and another on November 14, 2025, involving obstruction of access to federal property.
Griffin made his initial appearance before a U.S. Magistrate Judge and was released pending further court proceedings. As a condition of his release, he must stay away from the ICE building.
The Federal Protective Service is leading the investigation. The case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon.
