A federal grand jury in Portland has indicted Alistair Sidener, a 20-year-old resident of Portland, for allegedly damaging cameras attached to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) building on June 12, 2025.

Sidener appeared before a U.S. Magistrate Judge last Friday and was released under certain conditions while awaiting further court proceedings.

The charge of depredation of federal property, when the damage exceeds $1,000, is classified as a felony and carries a maximum sentence of ten years in prison.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation into this incident. The case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon.

According to authorities, since June 13, 2025, there have been charges brought against 37 individuals for offenses near ICE facilities. These offenses include assaulting federal officers, failure to comply with orders, and damaging government property.

An indictment represents only an accusation. “An indictment is only an accusation of a crime, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty,” officials stated.
