Portland State Men’s Basketball announced on April 21 the signing of Francesco Corato for the 2026-27 season, according to Head Coach Jase Coburn.
The addition of Corato is significant as he brings international experience and athleticism to the team. The program aims to build on its recent success after winning the Big Sky Conference regular season championship in 2025-26.
Corato, a 19-year-old forward from Venice, Italy, stands at 6-foot-8 and previously played for Umana Reyer Venice, a professional club in Italy. Most recently, he competed with Reyer Venezia at the Next Gen Cup where he averaged 11.8 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
“We are really excited to add Francesco to our team,” said Coburn. “The first thing that jumps out is how talented of a player he is. Francesco is not only skilled but a great athlete with toughness that will fit with our style. He has played against great competition throughout his career so we are looking forward to him competing in the U.S. with us.”
Corato becomes the sixth player signed by Portland State ahead of next season, joining Antonio Pusateri, Nehemiah Pollard, Dennis Johnson III, Trevor Frank, and Emil Skyttä as new additions to the roster.
