Portland State Men’s Basketball Coach Jase Coburn announced on Apr. 15 the signing of guard Trevor Frank, a transfer from Dallas Baptist University, for the 2026-27 season.
Frank is a 6-foot-1 guard from Katy, Texas, who played three seasons at Dallas Baptist in the Lone Star Conference. Over his college career, he averaged 10.3 points per game and was named second team All-Lone Star in the 2025-26 season. Frank also earned two LSC Sixth Man of the Year awards as a freshman and sophomore and was twice selected to the All-Lone Star Tournament team. He made a decisive jump shot with just 0.2 seconds left to secure Dallas Baptist’s win over Eastern New Mexico in this year’s Lone Star Tournament Championship.
“Trevor embodies everything that Portland State basketball culture is about,” said Coburn. “He is extremely competitive and has a dedication to getting better every day. He comes from a winning program in a really tough league. One thing that attracted us to him is his ability to guard the ball which fits in with our identity. On the offensive side, he is a very talented scorer and can really shoot the ball.
“We are looking forward to him being one of our hardest workers. I think Portland State fans are really going to love and appreciate Trevor,” Coburn said.
During his time at Dallas Baptist, Frank played in 106 games and averaged not only double-digit points but also contributed rebounds, assists, steals, and made over two three-pointers per game while shooting above eighty percent from the free throw line.
Frank was previously teammates with current Viking Charles Chukwu at Paetow High School where he earned multiple all-district honors as well as Texas Class 5A All-State recognition during his senior year.
Frank is Portland State’s first signing this spring following their Big Sky Conference regular season championship run last year under Coach Coburn.
