Portland State Men’s Basketball announced on April 17 the signing of Nehemiah Pollard for the 2026-27 season, according to Head Coach Jase Coburn.

The addition of Pollard brings experience and athleticism to Portland State’s roster as the team looks to build on its recent success. The program recently won the Big Sky Conference regular season championship in 2025-26 and is led by Big Sky Coach of the Year Jase Coburn.

Pollard, a senior transfer from Western Washington University, averaged 15.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game last season. He was recognized with Great Northwest Athletic Conference honorable mention honors and shot .492 from the field and .769 at the free throw line while making 38 three-pointers in 28 games.

“Nehemiah does a lot of the things we value at Portland State. He plays the game with a tremendous amount of physicality and is as athletic a player as we have had,” said Coburn. “Nehemiah has continuously gotten better over the course of his career and is hungry to be a Division I player. I am really excited about the things he can bring to our program.”

Pollard hails from Tacoma, where he played at Mount Tahoma High School and was an All-Conference selection as well as part of a league championship team in 2022. He also spent two seasons at South Puget Sound Community College, earning first team NWAC West Region honors as a sophomore while averaging similar statistics.

Pollard becomes Portland State’s fourth signing ahead of next season, joining Dennis Johnson III, Trevor Frank, and Emil Skyttä.
