A Portland woman appeared in federal court after being accused of assaulting an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer in Tigard, Oregon. Summer Shepherd, 37, faces a criminal complaint for allegedly assaulting a federal officer.
Court documents state that on November 23, 2025, ICE officers were executing an arrest in Tigard when Shepherd arrived at the scene. She reportedly pushed an officer in the chest, causing him to stumble backward. The officer returned to his vehicle and closed the door. Shepherd then struck the vehicle with her hands, causing a dent, and pulled open the door. When the officer attempted to block her entry with his hand, she slammed the door on his left arm. Additional officers assisted in apprehending Shepherd.
Shepherd made her initial appearance before a U.S. Magistrate Judge and was released pending further court proceedings.
Homeland Security Investigations is leading the investigation. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon is prosecuting the case.
“A criminal complaint is only an accusation of a crime, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.”
