The railroad crossing on First Avenue in Hillsboro will be closed from August 11 to August 15 for rail replacement work. The closure, which affects the section of First Avenue between SE Cosmic Lane and SE Clipper Lane, is scheduled to begin by 7 a.m. on August 11 and remain in effect around the clock until Friday evening, August 15.

First Avenue is also known as state highway OR 219. The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) advises travelers that work schedules could change due to weather or other factors and encourages checking current conditions at TripCheck.com before traveling.

ODOT noted that its ongoing funding crisis continues to impact maintenance and operations across the agency. However, most planning projects are expected to proceed because they are typically supported by separate funding streams—often state or federal funds that are legally restricted for project development purposes only, rather than for general maintenance or daily operations.
