The South West Area Commission on Transportation (SWACT) will meet online from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, March 13, according to a March 9 announcement. The meeting is open to the public and will include time for public input.
The agenda for the meeting includes updates on SWACT membership, prioritization of projects in the Capital Investment Plan, discussion of the draft Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) for 2027-2030, an overview of the Oregon Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) South West Area construction program, and information about ODOT Region 3’s budget and legislative matters.
SWACT is made up of local community leaders and other interested parties from Coos, Curry, and Douglas Counties. The commission meets up to six times each year to discuss transportation issues related to planning, funding, and operations within the state transportation system. The group also provides input to the Oregon Transportation Commission regarding local priorities that have statewide importance as well as broader policy issues.
Accommodations are available for people with disabilities who wish to participate in the meeting. Alternate formats of printed materials can be requested by calling 503-986-4188 or using statewide relay 7-1-1 at least two days before the event. For further details about the meeting or agenda access, individuals can contact ODOT Public Information Officer Dan Latham at Dan.Latham@odot.oregon.gov or by phone at 541-817-5200.
The upcoming session reflects ongoing efforts by SWACT and ODOT to engage communities in transportation planning and ensure that regional voices contribute to decisions affecting infrastructure development.
