A strong team effort gave the Knights the 76-65 victory over Lewis & Clark on Tuesday.
The Knights held the lead for the entirety of their matchup on the road against the Pioneers.
Warner Pacific opened up the game by getting out to a 10-point lead. The Pioneers fought to bring the game within three points midway through the first half, however, the Knights responded by pouring on the offense. Constant layups and successful free throws gave the Knights a 20-point lead going into the half.
The Knights had great success at the free throw line, going 17-18 from the stripe throughout the game.
Momentum swung in favor of the Pioneers for part of the second half. The Knights extended their lead to 33 points early in the second half before Lewis & Clark went on a huge run to trim the Knights' lead to seven.
Turnovers and fouls from Warner Pacific paired with hot shooting by the Pioneers to bring the game within single digits.
The Knights found their footing midway through the second half and held off Lewis & Clark for the rest of the game to come away with the 76-65 win.
The win was a strong team showing for the Knights, as both Thomas Miles and Darius Traylor recorded double doubles. Miles kept up his impressive start to the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds while Traylor recorded 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Caleb Tyree-Morgan made his presence felt in all aspects of the game. Tyree-Morgan tallied an impressive nine blocks, while also hauling eight rebounds, and scoring 11 points.
Isaac Etter also had another strong performance, leading the Knights with 21 points and recording four assists.
The win puts the Knights at 2-2 on the season. Warner Pacific is back in action on Friday, Nov. 18 when they travel to take on Montana State in an exhibition matchup.
