Teagan Colvin, a former ESPN Top 100 recruit, has signed with the Portland State Vikings women’s basketball team, following head coach Karlie Burris from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), according to an April 16 announcement.
Colvin’s move is significant for Portland State as she brings experience and accolades earned during her high school and college career. Her addition to the roster is expected to strengthen the team’s performance in upcoming seasons.
Burris recruited Colvin—who was ranked 81st in ESPN’s Top 100 for the 2024 high school class—while serving as an assistant coach at UNLV. During her two seasons at UNLV, Colvin played in 47 games and helped win a Mountain West regular-season title as a freshman. She started nine games as a sophomore and averaged 2.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game over 15.1 minutes.
“I have known Teagan and her family for a long time, so this is a full circle moment,” Burris said about adding Colvin to her new roster at Portland State. “She is the ultimate competitor. She’s an old school point guard who can create for herself and her teammates. Her leadership and work ethic will elevate the program immediately. We are so excited that she is a Viking.”
In addition to being recognized by ESPN’s Top 100 rankings out of high school, Colvin was also listed in Wootten Top 150 and John Lucas Top 160 rankings after leading Coeur d’Alene High School in Idaho to two state championships and earning several individual honors including state tournament MVP twice.
Colvin has also excelled on the club circuit with Northwest Blazers where she was named one of the top five shooters on the Girls Under Armour Association circuit in 2022 by making nearly sixty percent of her field goals that year.
