The Oregon Department of Transportation announced on March 10 that it is partnering with Tillamook County to update the county’s Transportation System Plan, originally adopted in 2005. The department is inviting residents to participate in a series of upcoming virtual events to discuss potential projects and strategies aimed at improving local transportation.

The update to the Transportation System Plan is intended to address current and future transportation needs in Tillamook County. Community input will play a key role in shaping the long-range planning document, which outlines projects, programs, and policies for the county’s transportation system.

Residents are encouraged to join one of several scheduled online community conversations. Events are planned for Oceanside, Cape Meares, and Netarts on March 18; Neahkahnie and Falcon Cove on March 19; Pacific City, Woods, and Tierra del Mar on April 7; and Neskowin on April 8. Each event will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Accommodations will be provided for people with disabilities, and materials can be made available in alternative formats upon request by contacting Caroline Crisp or using the statewide relay service at least 48 hours before an event.

For those unable to attend the live sessions or who prefer reviewing information independently, an online open house will be available later this month. The same materials presented during the virtual meetings will be accessible online, along with opportunities for public feedback.

The Oregon Department of Transportation encourages community members to share information about these events with friends, family, and neighbors so more people can get involved. For additional questions or requests regarding accessibility or translation services under ADA Title II or Civil Rights Title VI accommodations, contact details are provided within the announcement.
