Vero Broadband, LLC, doing business as Vero Fiber, announced on April 14 that it has completed the acquisition of Telephone Electronics Corporation (TEC), expanding its fiber-to-the-premise broadband network across Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee. The deal marks a significant step in Vero’s national growth plan by adding TEC’s infrastructure and legacy to its platform.

The acquisition is important because it extends reliable fiber connectivity to more underserved and rural communities in the Southeast. With this move, Vero will now reach about 444,000 households through both existing serviceable locations and markets under construction.

TEC will continue to operate as an independent brand within Vero’s portfolio. Local leadership teams at TEC will remain in place during the transition. Vero said it plans to invest further capital into TEC’s network for expansion and improved multi-gig services throughout the region.

Sunita Krishna, CEO of Vero Fiber, said: “What drew us to TEC wasn’t just the network. It was the people and the reputation they’ve built serving their communities. Bringing TEC into the Vero family means we can accelerate bringing reliable fiber internet to more people and do it with a team that already knows what local trust looks like. We’re excited to build on that together.” Krishna also added: “We would also like to extend a special thank you and congratulations to the TEC Shareholders. TEC’s success over the past 100-plus years reflects their vision, local commitment, and passion for connecting people. Their dedication and leadership have built a strong foundation that will continue to thrive as part of Vero’s long-term growth strategy.”

Scott Pell, President of TEC, said: “We are thrilled to finalize this partnership. Joining forces with Vero provides TEC with the capital and scale needed to accelerate our growth while continuing to serve our communities with the same community focus and dedication. Our customers can expect the same trusted service, now supported by the resources and innovation of a national platform.”

Following this transaction, Vero operates fiber services in several markets including Bay Springs, Morton, Taylorsville in Mississippi; Paris and Camden in Tennessee; Roanoke in Alabama; among others throughout these states.
