Strong winds that began overnight have led to widespread road disruptions across Oregon, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). The storm has resulted in downed trees, fallen limbs, and power lines affecting highways throughout the state. ODOT crews have been working through the night to clear debris and respond to hazards where it is safe to do so.

“ODOT crews have been out through the night responding statewide, clearing debris and downed trees where conditions allow and working closely with utility companies where power lines are involved. In areas where high winds are continuing and trees are still falling, it is not safe to begin clearing until conditions improve,” an ODOT spokesperson stated.

The agency warned that ongoing power outages may impact traffic signals, highway message signs, and TripCheck cameras. Travelers should expect delays as cleanup efforts continue. Road conditions are changing rapidly due to persistent high winds.

ODOT advised travelers to delay non-essential trips if possible and plan ahead for changing conditions. For real-time updates on road closures and weather information, drivers can visit TripCheck.com.
