MHCC Welcomes New Aquatic Center Manager

12

Press release submission issued the following announcement on Feb. 28

Andrew Jackman comes to us with 15 years of experience including work in aquatics, general recreation, finance and emergency management. A special thanks to our community partners, Dennis Baker, Mike Riegelman and Lynn Snodgrass, for serving on MHCC’s recommending hiring committee. Andrew's first tasks include a full assessment of the Aquatic Center, connecting with the community, and hiring/training new Aquatic Center staff for our pools’ much-awaited reopening.

We will first reopen the 50-meter pool for approved swim teams to practice or compete in early summer. At some point later this year, we will have a short temporary closure in order to construct a permanent structure retractable roof over our 50-meter pool. We’re so happy to be able to offer this to the community after receiving funding for this purpose in early 2022.

Though slightly later than originally expected, we will also be opening the 25-yard pool later this summer for swimming lessons, recreational swim and indoor aquatic recreation activities.

We are looking forward to being able to welcome our internal and external community back to the Aquatic Center. Please check mhcc.edu/aquatics for the most recent information and opening plans and protocols.
