Oregon State will look to score much-needed at-large points against some of the top cross country teams in the nation Friday morning at the Pac-12 Championships.
The meet is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m. at UC Riverside's Agricultural Operations Course in Riverside, Calif. It will be televised on Pac-12 Networks with Jim Watson and Tom Feuer calling the race. Live results will be available here.
The Beavers, ranked No. 30 in the latest USTFCCCA Coaches' Poll, will square off with five other nationally-ranked foes at the league championships. Last season, Oregon State placed sixth with 156 points, the second lowest point total in school history.
Returning All-Pac-12 honorees Kaylee Mitchell and Grace Fetherstonhaugh headline the Beaver lineup after finishing fourth and 14th respectively at both the Joe Piane Invitational and the Nuttycombe Invitational.
Oregon State will race four freshmen, Emily van Valkenburg, Teaghan Knox, Kate Laurent and Jamie Hamlin. Van Valkenburg, Knox and Laurent finished 1-2-3 at the Ash Creek Invitational early in the season while Hamlin led the Beavs at the Charles Bowles Invitational.
Former All-Mountain West runner Christina Geisler is part of a strong veteran presence in her second year on the team. Fellow returners Aleen Golla, Zoe Simmons and Emily Foote each have provided important contributions over the course of season and round out the ten-woman lineup.
