Beavers Finish In Eighth Place At Nanea Pac-12 Preview

The Oregon State women's golf team concluded their fall season with an eighth place finish at the Nanea Pac-12 Preview on Wednesday.

The Beavers finished the three-day, 54-hole tournament with a 23-over 291-307-301--899 at the par-73, 6,449-yard Nanea Golf Club to place eighth in the 12-team field that includes 11 Pac-12 programs and Hawai'i.

Amanda Minni led Oregon State in the event, finishing in a tie for 26th place with a 5-over 70-83-71--224. The sub-par scores in the first and third rounds are the 10th and 11th in her collegiate career.

Minni competed in all four fall tournaments for the Beavers and recorded her third career Top 10 finish, a tie for sixth place at the USF Intercollegiate to open the 2022-23 campaign.

Chayse Gomez finished in a tie for 32nd place with a 7-over 75-72-79--226 and led the Beavers with 36 pars in the three rounds.

Danique Stokmans and Kyra Ly both finished in a tie for 38th place with a 10-over 229, as Stokmans had scores of 73-82-74 and Ly went 73-77-79. Stokmans was one of nine golfers to get an eagle in the tourney with a three on the par-5, 464-yard 13th hole in the final round.

Madde Sund played in her second tournament of the fall season and shot a 12-over 78-76-77--231 to finish in a tie for 45th place.

No. 1 Stanford cruised to the team title by 10 strokes with an 18-under 858 and Rose Zhang of Stanford, the No. 2 player in the nation, claimed medalist honors with an 11-under 208.

Oregon State had 162 pars over the three rounds, the third most of any team, and 36 birdies. Minni had a scoring average of 2.89 on the par-3's, tied for the fifth best in the 60-player field.

The Beavers will open their spring season Feb. 13-14 at the SDSU Lamkin Invitational in San Diego, Calif.
