Knights Can't Hold Off Bruins, Fall at Home to George Fox

The Knights were unable to hold off George Fox as they fell 55-45 to the Bruins on Saturday.

The game got out to a good start for Warner Pacific. Strong defense prevented the Bruins from getting many good looks and caused George Fox to turn the ball over seven times in just the first quarter. The Knights also benefitted from efficient shooting early on, as the Knights shot 54% from the floor in the first quarter to jump out to a 16-8 lead.

While the Knights weren't as dominant in the second quarter, their performance was still strong enough to keep the Bruins at bay. George Fox was able to trim Warner's lead, however, the Knights still went into the half up by four.

Momentum began to shift in favor of the Bruins in the second half, however. Ella Roberts led the offense for George Fox as they trimmed the Knights' lead to just one going into the final frame of play.

The Bruins gained their first lead of the game in the fourth quarter. The Knights were unable to respond, as their offense went cold at the end of the game, going 1-11 from the field in the final quarter. Additionally, the Bruins were able to control possession by outrebounding the Knights 13-6 in the fourth quarter.

Top performances for Warner Pacific include Bobbi Clark, who led the team in scoring with 11 points. Not far behind was McKeeley Tonkin who had 10 points. Additionally, Alexa Mee led the Knights with eight rebounds.

The loss drops the Knights to 0-3 to start the season. The Knights are back in action when they begin conference play against Multnomah on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 5:30 p.m.
