FOIA Request Sent to Oregon State Board of Education Regarding Instructional Mandates for State K-12 Schools on December 10, 2024

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Oregon State Board of Education regarding instructional mandates for state K-12 schools on December 10, 2024.

As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Beaver State News requested a list of all instructional mandates for state K-12 schools under the Oregon Public Records Law, §192.410 et seq. This includes all required courses and general instruction.

We believe that access to public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities as a media organization. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we have also requested a fee waiver as a media professional.

We await the response from the Oregon State Board of Education and will keep our readers updated with any developments.
