“Cosmic Tree”

The Alexander Gallery is pleased to announce, “Cosmic Tree,” an installation of mixed media sculptural works by Kanetaka Ikeda. This exhibition runs September 19 through November 30, 2022 and includes an artist talk Wednesday, October 19th from noon to 1:00pm. “Cosmic Tree” is inspired by Ikeda's fascination with the dream world and time. In these works he organizes materials to evoke plant like structures that are colored with spiraling patterns informed by stars and galaxies. Kanetaka Ikeda is a Portland based artist who has shown work internationally. His work has been recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts. The Alexander Gallery is is located in the Niemeyer Center at Clackamas Community College. It is open Monday through Friday from 9 – 5 with the exception of holidays. Admission is free.
