Four Knights Get Nationally Recognized for Academic Excellence
Four Warner Pacific Knights from women's basketball were recognized for academic excellence by the NAIA's 2022-23 academic year. Sophomores Alexa Mee, Amalya Sales, Emiko Nagai, and Kaityn Curry are four of 46 student-athletes from the Cascade Collegiate Conference to be named for this prestigious award.
The criteria that must be met to garnish this specific award is to have a minimum 3.5 grade point average, be eligible for the sport they're playing, and to have attended their institution for a minimum of one full year. Athletic Director Matt Gregg is ecstatic of this wonderful accomplishment saying; "I am always so proud of the effort our women's basketball team makes in the classroom. It was great being on van rides and hearing them talk about their classes to each other. The importance of education has been handed down from class to class. The first semester we ended with a 3.69 as a team."
To be able to maintain a 3.5 GPA while playing a collegiate sport is nothing short of impressive and these ladies deserve our applause.
