Starting March 18, the intersection of OR 211 and S Meridian Road has transitioned to a four-way stop. Drivers on OR 211 are now required to stop upon reaching this junction. The area features new stop signs and an overhead flashing red light as reminders for motorists.
Recent improvements at the site include the installation of stop signs on OR 211, rumble strips across lanes at four points on OR 211—two on each side of S Meridian Road—and overhead flashing red warning lights to indicate the all-way stop. New signage has also been added where necessary.
The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) plans further permanent changes at this intersection in either 2026 or 2027. They encourage community members to stay informed about ongoing road construction projects by visiting their website and exploring an interactive map detailing current works.
Drivers are reminded to exercise caution in work zones, adhere to construction signs, and be mindful of workers' safety. It is important to note that fines are doubled in all Oregon work zones regardless of the presence of workers or signs.
